Mangalayatan University (MU), established in 2006, is a UGC-recognized private university located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Founded with the motto “Learn Today to Lead Tomorrow”, MU is dedicated to nurturing academic excellence, research, and value-based education.

The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by various statutory bodies including the Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and Council of Architecture (COA) for respective programs.

Chairman
The Chief Patron of the university is Shri Hemant Goyal, who serves as the Chairman of the Sarvsahara Foundation—the sponsoring society behind Mangalayatan University.
Chancellor
The current Chancellor is Dr. Achyutanand Mishra, a distinguished journalist and educator. A postgraduate in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University, he has served in editorial leadership roles across major Hindi publications and has received several honors, including the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award and Yash Bharti. He was also Vice Chancellor of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi National Journalism University, Bhopal.
Vice-Chancellor
Prof. P. K. Dashora assumed office as Vice-Chancellor on 2 December 2022. With prior experience as VC at Modi University of Science and Technology (Sikar), University of Kota, and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology (Udaipur), he has also served on the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. He is recognized for emphasizing employment-oriented education, research-based learning, and holistic student development

STATE GOVERNMENT (U.P)

Mangalayatan University has been created under the “Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act” and notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as Act No. 32 of 2006, by its Gazette No. 362/VII-V-1-1(Ka)-12/2006 dated October 30, 2006, with the right to confer degrees under section (2f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act.

UGC-DEB-AICTE - OPEN & DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL)

Mangalayatan University Aligarh is recognized by the University Grants Commission - Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), allows the University to conduct open and distance learning mode of education in the higher education system.

UGC-DEB-AICTE - ONLINE LEARNING

Mangalayatan University Aligarh is entitled by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to offer online degree programs. Additionally, our programs are approved by AICTE.

NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL (NAAC) - GRADE A+

Mangalayatan University is awarded Grade A+ by coveted National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the first cycle of accreditation for its high academic quality, including education, research, and extension. The University scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.34 on a 4 point scale.

ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES (AIU)

Association of Indian Universities Mangalayatan University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Based on the membership of AIU, the degree, diploma and other professional programmes offered by the University are recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC).

BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA (BCI)

Mangalayatan University is a member of the Bar Council of India (BCI). Based on the membership of BCI, legal education offered by the University including academic and professional programmes in law are recognized all over India.

PHARMACY COUNCIL OF INDIA (PCI)

Mangalayatan University is a member of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Approval granted for the Department of Pharmacy and School of Pharmacy, permitting the university to offer pharmacy programs.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TEACHER EDUCATION (NCTE)

Multiple education degrees approved, including B.Ed., B.El.Ed, BA.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed., and M.Ed.

NCISM – NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE

Mangalayatan Ayurveda Medical College and Research Centre, Mangalayatan University. LOP from NCISM to conduct a BAMS programme for the session 2025-26.

UTTAR PRADESH STATE MEDICAL FACULTY APPROVAL

B.Sc. Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Programmes are approved by Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty. According to membership compliance, 40 students are allowed to take admission in each year to the B.Sc. Nursing and GNM Programmes each.

ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (AICTE)

As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval. As Mangalayatan University is a Bonafide University established by a State Act, it does not require AICTE approval.
